Bill Goodman

Bill Goodman has been in the courier industry for over 50 years! Starting as a messenger for Service Messenger Company when he was 16, he was promoted into the office. After returning from Korea, he rejoined Service and became a partner a year later. In 1974 he bought the company and sold half to Susan Cooper and they worked together to grow the company until they sold it to Airline Delivery in 1989. During that time, Bill was always involved in the industry, being an active member of the New York State Messenger and Courier Association. He's also been involved with the New York City Department of Transportation. In 1991 he wrote a book about starting and operating a messenger service which sold out. Since selling his business, Bill started The Courier Times, the only monthly publication for the industry and has put on several successful tradeshows and has consulted on acquisitions for many firms. He is currently director of the New York State Messenger and Courier Association.
